DR. ERIC STAMPER

Optometric Physician

Eric Stamper, OD is the founder of Vision Source of Hendersonville, which opened in May 2008 as Visionary Eyecare Center. A native of Hendersonville, Dr. Stamper earned his optometry degree with honors from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 2007 and immediately returned to Hendersonville to set about opening his practice. Since returning to Hendersonville, Dr. Stamper has sought an active leadership role in the local community through involvement in numerous charitable events and membership in a variety of organizations. 

While at optometry school, Dr. Stamper was a leader in his class, leading more than 80 students and optometrists in sight missions to Latin America during his term as president of SVOSH (Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity). He also served a year as the international president for the Gold Key optometric leadership society and maintained membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. Since entering practice in 2007, Dr. Stamper has maintained a high level of industry participation through several doctor-led organizations.

Dr. Stamper specializes in specialty contact lenses, 
including scleral lenses and CRT/Orthokeratology, myopia control, and has been certified to fit MiSight Myopia Control contact lenses.
 

DR. JENNIFER UHL

Optometric Physician

Jennifer Uhl, OD, (pronounced like "Yule") originally hails from Thomaston, Georgia, attending the University of Georgia and then graduating with honors from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1997.  She practiced at Hunkeler Eye Center in Kansas City, Missouri, specializing in corneal disease and clinical research for several years. Dr. Uhl also loves working with children and spent some time at Pediatric Eye Care in Kansas City before moving to the Nashville area. 

She has served on the Tennessee Board of Optometry for several years and is a member of the Tennessee Optometric Association.

 

She has been a resident of Sumner County for many years caring for patients of every age and joined our practice in October 2018, then became a partner in September 2019.  She is a fifth generation optometrist, carrying on the family tradition in providing exceptional patient care. Dr. Jenny Uhl, her husband Dr. Mark Uhl (a gastroenterologist) and their two daughters currently live in Gallatin. She enjoys watching Tennessee football and the Nashville Predators and hopes to travel more with her family.

DR. EMILY BURGON

Optometric Physician

Emily Burgon, OD, FAAO was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then earned her Doctorate in Optometry from Salus/Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2013, where she obtained high honors and graduated in the top 10% of her class. After graduation, she completed a one-year primary care residency at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina and became a fellow of the Academy of Optometry in 2017.  Dr. Burgon worked in primary care at MyEyeDr in Raleigh, North Carolina for three years and before relocating to Nashville.

She is licensed to diagnose and and manage ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, and diabetes. Dr. Burgon also specializes in contact lenses, including daily contact lenses, toric lenses for astigmatism, and multifocal contacts. Dr. Burgon has a passion for providing outstanding patient care and connecting with her patients.  

She currently lives in downtown Nashville with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and experiencing art in all forms, especially live music, movies, and broadway shows. She and her husband are “foodies” and love checking out new restaurants in the area.
